About Play . . .
In 2006, "the Music Therapy Center" was established to provide music therapy services and programming to the communities of Los Angeles and South Bay cities. With foundations in music therapy, psychology, and early education, programming quickly grew to serve infants through adults both typical functioning and those with learning delays, physical impairment, speech impairment, hearing impairment, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson's, and more.
In 2007, south bay's popular "Musical Mondays" program at the Redondo Beach Main Library spread like wildfire overnight and has since been drawing in record-breaking crowds. After five years of service and branching off into various directions, the company received a face lift and proudly returned into the community as "PLAY Music Company" in March of 2011. Still built upon a passion for community and growth through music, PLAY offers enrichment classes, music lessons for teens and adults, community events, workshops, local resources, music therapy services, and more.
Our extended musical family is at the heart of PLAY.
